1/2 pound of salt pork chopped
2 pounds stew beef
salt, pepper and flour
1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion chopped
1 beef bouillon cube dissolved in 1 cup water
8 ounce can of tomato sauce
12 peppercorns
3 whole cloves
1/4 cup parsley
1 bay leaf
6 carrots cut diagonally into 1 inch slices
6 potatoes
1 stalk celery cut into 1 inch pieces
1 cup white wine

Directions:
Directions:
Brown salt pork. Sprinkle beef with salt, pepper and flour. Brown beef in salt pork drippings. Remove meat from pan. Add garlic, onion, bouillon, tomato sauce, peppercorns, whole cloves, parsley and bay leaf in pan and bring to a boil. Put meat in Dutch oven. Pour sauce over all and simmer for 4 hours. Cook vegetables in separate pot until tender. Add white wine after 3 1/2 hours. Add vegetables the last 30 minutes.
