2 c all-purpose flour
2 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c butter, softened
1 c nuts
1t cinnamon
1t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 c sour cream
1 t vanilla
1 egg
2 c(two medium) peeled and finely chopped apples

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, brown sugar and butter. Blend until crumbly. Stir in nuts. Press 2 3/4 c of this crumb mixture into an un-greased 13-inch-by-9-inch pan.
To the remaining crumb mixture add cinnamon, baking soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg. Blend well. Stir in apples. Spoon evenly over base.
Bake 25 minutes to 35 minutes until toothpick inserted is removed clean.Cut into squares. Serve plain or with whipped cream.
