5 lbs. fresh turnip greens + roots
6-8 cups water
2 tsp. bacon drippings or olive oil
Green onions, as desired (optional)
Ham bone or a few ham pieces
Dash pepper sauce
1 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 ts.p garlic salt

Directions:
Directions:
Wash turnip greens several times; tear into bite size pieces; peel turnip roots, slice.
Combine ham and water in a large Dutch oven;
bring to boil.
Cover, reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Add turnip greens; cover, cook 10 minutes.
Add turnip roots and bacon drippings; cover,
cook 15-20 minutes, until greens are tender.
Serve with green onions, if desired.
