Ingredients:  
• ½ C shortening
• 2/3 C sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 C sifted flour
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• ½ tsp nutmeg
• ½ tsp ground cloves
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 C rolled oats
• 1 C chopped apple slices
• 1 C chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Mix with oats. Add alternately with apples to creamed mixture. Add walnuts and mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 15-18 mins. Makes 3 dozen.
