1 cup Crisco
3 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup molasses
2 eggs
4 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:

Mix everything except buttermilk. Blend well and add buttermilk. Chill and then roll out approximately 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned, approximately 10 minutes.
