1/2 cup Crisco
2 sticks butter
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup milk
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. coconut extract
1 tsp. lemon extract

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add sugar, one cup at time and beat. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add milk; mix. Add flour, a little at a time until smooth. Add remaining dry ingredients. Add flavoring and beat well. Pour batter into greased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes or until cake tests done. Do not overcook.

I just loved to scrape the moist "goo" off of the bottom of Mama Polly's pound cake plate!! There's nothing better than a moist pound cake and nothing worse than a dry one!
