Pastry for 9-inch pie-crust

¾ c. sugar
¼ c. flour
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
dash of salt
6 cups thinly sliced pared tart apples (about 6 medium)
Topping:

1 cup flour
½ cup firm butter
½ cup packed brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat over to 425. Prepare pastry. Mix flour, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Stir in apples. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate. Top with crumb topping. Cover pie edge with foil. Lay a piece of foil over top of pie. Bake 50 minutes. Remove foil during last 10 minutes of baking. (Watch closely – juice will run over towards the end.) Serve warm with ice cream.

Topping: Mix flour, firm butter, and packed brown sugar until crumbly.
