1 pound asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
Salt to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste

Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Arrange 4 asparagus spears on a work surface. Thread 2 (3-inch)skewers about 2 inches apart through thick ends of asparagus spears to form a raft. Repeat with remaining asparagus. Brush asparagus with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill 3 minutes on each side or until crisp-tender.
