1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
2 eggs
2 bananas mashed
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Lemon Butter Icing:
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
approx. 2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and banana. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover; chill about 1 hour. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes at 375º. Cool. Frost with Lemon Butter Icing.

Lemon Butter Icing:
Blend butter and sugar; stir in lemon juice and peel . Beat until smooth and of spreading consistency.
