2 T freshly grated lemon zest (about 3 lemons)
2 1/2 c flour
1/2 c sugar plus 3 T if using fresh cranberries
1 T baking powder
1/2 t salt
6 T cold unsalted butter.
1 1/4 c fresh cranberries chopped, or l 1/4 c dried cranberries or dried cherries
1 L egg
1 L egg yolk
1 c heavy cream

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degree F and line large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix together flour, 1/2 c sugar, b powder, salt, butter and zest.
Toss together fresh cranberries and 3 T sugar and stir into flour mixture. If using dried fruit, add to flour mixture.
In another small bowl lightly beat egg and yolk and stir in cream. Add egg mixture to flour mix and stir til just combined.
On well floured surface pat dough to 1 inch thick round and with a 2 in. round cutter or rim of glass cut out as many rounds as possible. Arrange about 1 in. apart on baking sheet and bake 15 to 20 min, or til pale golden.
Serve with creme fraiche or whipped cream.
