1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
1 (16 oz) can tomatoes
1 (8 3/4 oz) can corn, drained
1/2 c. chili sauce or catsup
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Brown beef and onion; drain. Add green pepper, tomatoes, corn, chili sauce, chili powder and 3/4 tsp. salt. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes. Stir cornmeal and 1 tsp. salt into 1 cup cold water. Boil 3 cups water in saucepan. Gradually pour in cornmeal mixture, stirring constantly. Cook until thick and bubbly, stirring frequently. Spread 2/3 in bottom of ungreased 2 qt. casserole. Pour beef filling over. Spoon rest of batter around edges of casserole. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with grated cheese, if desired.
