Ingredients:
Ingredients:
bag of pinto beans
onion
garlic salt
salt & pepper
2 tbsp. margarine
1 whole potato
corn bread Mix (my favorite is Martha White's sweet yellow)

Directions:
Directions:
Soak your dried pintos in a large pan overnight.
Drain and wash before cooking. In same large pan, cover pintos in water and bring to boil. Add chopped onion, garlic salt and potato. Cook on a low heat for about 2-3 hours or until beans are tender. Remove potato and throw away. The potato will help eliminate the effects the beans will have on you later - enough said. (WARNING: do not eat potato!!!)

Prepare the corn bread as instructed except that I normally add a little more sugar to the mix.

Personal Notes:
Optional - You can also add cubed ham steak, diced potatoes and carrots.
