2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Pre- heat oven to 375 degrees
Sift flour with salt, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger. Cream shortening add sugar and cream. Add egg and molasses. Add flour, refrigerate for 1 hour.
Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll into balls, then roll into some sugar. Bake 8 to 10 mins.
