1 1/2 sticks butter
1/4 cup + 2 tsp. dark Karo syrup
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 stick butter, melted
1 loaf French bread, sliced 1 1/2 inches thick

Directions:
Cook 1 1/2 sticks butter, syrup, and brown sugar for 5 minutes until thickened to caramel sauce, stirring well. Pour into bottom of lightly greased 9x13 pan. Place sliced bread on top of the caramel sauce. Place bread on sauce quickly before sauce begins to harden. Beat together eggs, milk, salt, and vanilla. Pour over bread; cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Before baking, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon; sprinkle over bread. Drizzle 1/2 stick melted butter on top. Bake uncovered 35-40 minutes. Serve in squares or spooned from dish. Serves 8-10 and can be easily doubled or halved.
