Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter at room temperature
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. poppy seeds
3 eggs
1/4 c. milk
Zest of 2 lemons
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. fresh lemon juice

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease on 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Place the butter and sugar in small mixing bowl and mix until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Place the flour, baking powder, salt, and poppy seeds in a bowl and stir. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, milk, lemon zest, and vanilla. Add all ingredients together a little at a time, being careful not to overmix. Spoon batter into the pan. Bake until toothpick comes out clean and top is beginning to turn golden, about 45 minutes. If using small pans, about 30 to 35 minutes. Make glaze putting lemon juice and sugar into a small saucepan and bringing to boil over medium heat. Cook until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly. When bread comes out of the oven, poke several holes on top with a toothpick and pour the glaze over the bread.
