1 package. yeast and 5 Tablespoon lukewarm water
Mix and set aside.

¾ Cup Shortening
3 Tablespoon Sugar
5 Cup Self-rising Flour
2 Cup Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening with sugar and flour. Mix yeast mixture with buttermilk, then with flour mixture.
This batter will keep up to seven days in the refrigerator. For a lighter biscuit, decrease the amount of flour slightly.
