4 green bell peppers
1.25 lbs. ground chuck
1 lb. can crushed tomatoes
1 can corn, drained
1/2 large onion, chopped
1 jalapeño pepper, finely chopped
salt and pepper to taste
1 to 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco to taste
4 oz. American or Cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)

Cut off tops of bell peppers; remove seeds and membrane. Precook bell peppers in boiling, salted water about 5 minutes. Sprinkle inside of peppers with salt. Cook ground chuck, onion and jalapeño until meat is browned. (Chop up the bell pepper from the tops and brown it with the meat is well.) Add tomatoes, corn, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. Cover and simmer 20 to 30 minutes. At this point add the cheese if you are using it. Stuff the peppers; stand upright in baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
