Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4 medium sweet potatoes
1 1/2 sticks butter, sliced
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
cinnamon
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Boil potatoes in jackets until tender. Cool, peel and slice lengthwise. Spray casserole with Pam. Layer potatoes, butter, brown sugar, and sugar. Sprinkle each layer with a little cinnamon. This will make two layers in a 9x 13 pan. Add water. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour or until candied. As the potatoes bake, they will shrink in size. Move them so all of them are in juice. Baste often. (Optional: When potatoes are done, top with chopped pecans and glaze by basting with pan syrup; bake for 5 minutes more.)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
"Mama Polly never used the pecans and none of us want the pecans, but "B" says that our family is weird and others would enjoy the pecans!! That's the only reason they are listed here!!!" Pollianne
