Directions: |
Directions:To make the butter: In a large bowl combine the butter ingredients. Stir with a fork to evenly distribute the seasonings. In small saute pan melt 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture.
Brush the melted butter mixture all over the asparagus spears. Grill over direct medium heat until the spears are marked and tender - 6 to 8 minutes depending on their thickness, turning once halfway through the grilling time. Transfer the asparagus to the bowl of reserved butter mixture. Toss the spears to coat and evenly distribute the butter mixture. Serve warm. |

Notes: I like to use a medium saute' pan to melt part of the butter, then toss asparagus in pan until spears are coated. I evenly distribute the spears on the grill so half is over the edge of coals and half is not; none over the center of the coals. Flip so hot/cool ends swap half-way. If still too crunchy, continue to cook until desired tenderness.
