Directions:
In a sauce pan combine the chips, vanilla, and condensed milk. Warm it all up over a low heat. Stir it occasionally as it warms to more frequently as it begins to boil. Most important that all the lumps melt. After you get a smooth consistency add the cup of nuts or other additive mix it in then scoop it out into your tin with a spatula.

Personal Notes:
Ok so I got this recipe off the top of the can of sweetened condensed milk. I spent several years giving fudge to the boys at work on the Warner Brothers lot at Christmas. There are a lot of boys there and many different groups. I walked in one year with 11 batches of fudge. I never had any complaints except that it didn't last long enough.
So after years of making 18 to 20 batches of fudge a year I am claiming the recipe as my own.
I kept the recipe simple because of the many variations possible. Chocolate with peanut butter, peanut butter with chocolate, chocolate with walnuts, pecans, almonds, marshmallows or even white chocolate chunks. Then you change chip flavor to vanilla and add your favorite extract and then your finishing addition. For example- peppermint extract with candycanes crushed or almond extract with sliced almonds.
Please be creative and have fun. I started buying the supplies at a big box store like smart and final to keep it cheaper, and I always use a throw away tin so I never see it again and I don't care. My last bit of advise is to use a non-stick sauce pan nothing sticks and there is less to clean up. My behind always seemed to appreciate that!
