2 C. milk (scalded)
1 C Sugar
1 C. Crisco
3 egg yolks
8 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 large cake yeast.

Directions:
Put yeast in small bowl wit 3 T. sugar(make paste). Cream sugar &Crisco. Add scalded milk (cooled) into sugar & crisco. Add salt & 2 cups flour. Add egg yolks and beat. Add 2 more C. flour,add yeast paste. Add 2 more C.flour (use hands)mix well. Add sour cream & last 2 c. flour mix well. Cover bowl & refrigerate overnight. Make into (8) balls, roll out real thin. Spread w/ nut,poppy seed,apricot or prune filling. Roll up like jelly roll as tight as possible, tuck in ends. Bake at 350º After 1st 25 min. remove from oven and brush with beaten egg and return to oven for last 20 min of baking time. Cool well then wrap in foil.
Can be frozen until ready to serve allow at least 30 min to thaw. Great for Christmas,Easter & weddings. Slice thin and serve.
