4 squares Baker's unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. milk
chocolate fudge icing

Directions:
Directions:
Heat chocolate with water over very low heat, stirring until smooth. Add 1/2 c. sugar. Cook 2 minutes longer. Cook until luke warm then add vanilla.

Sift flour, soda, and salt together. Cream butter, gradually beat in sugar and beat until fluffy, eggs in one at a time and beat. Then add flour and milk alternately. Beat until smooth. Take chocolate mixture and blend with flour. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. 350 º for 30-35 minutes. Set for 10 minutes. Ice with chocolate fudge icing.
