1 - 2 cans of apple pie filling
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 Tbsp. butter
1/2 to 1/4 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice (keep apples from turning dark)

(oil & egg for pastry top)

Directions:

In bowl combine the apple filling, along with sugar, and spices. Mix together.
Line a 9-in pie plate with bottom crust, cover bottom with apple mixture, dot with butter. Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie. Place over filling. Trim, seal, and flute the edges. Beat egg with a fork add a little oil to the egg, apply with pastry brush on top layer of pastry. Make sure you cut slits in top of pie for a vent. Bake @ 375º for 25 min. Remove foil and bake 20-25 minutes longer.

Sometimes I use "Wilderness Pie Filling" instead of "Western Family". Both are good pie filling.
