3/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/3 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
3 eggs

Icing: confectioner's sugar
butter (browned)
milk
vanilla

Mix ingredients together and bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes.
