Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
48 Hershey's kisses

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients (except candy) in a large mixing bowl. Mix on lowest speed until dough forms. Shape dough into balls by rounded teaspoonfuls. Roll balls in sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10-15 minutes.

When you take cookies from oven, top each immediately with candy kiss. Press down firmly so cookie cracks around edges. Cool completely before stacking.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This recipe is from my 8th grade teacher Mrs. Vansant. It is the absolute Christmas cookie of choice for all the Bühlings (save one), which means planning in advance to have the chocolate kisses shipped to Germany before the first of Advent!
