3 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter or half butter and margarine
1 egg
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Add sugar, egg, vanilla and salt. Add oatmeal gradually, then add nuts. Drop from teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350º. Be sure to have scant teaspoonful because they spread like lace. Allow to cool 1 minute - remove carefully with spatula.
They should be as thin as tissue and crisp.
They make wonderful gifts for Christmas packed in airtight tins.
