1 quart milk
1 tbsp. gelatin
2 eggs, separated
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
salt, to taste

Directions:
Heat milk in top of double boiler. Soften gelatin in small portion of milk. Mix together, slightly beaten egg yolks and sugar. Add this plus softened gelatin to hot milk. Heat for several minutes. Add salt and vanilla, then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Chill.
