3 lbs. minced pork
1 lbs. minced beef
2 cups water
1 cup onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
1 clove garlic, finely copped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp sage or poultry seasoning
1/8 tsp pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients, except breadcrumbs in a pot. Bring to a boil and cook in an open pot for 20 minutes. Remove from heat.

Add several spoonfuls of breadcrumbs, and let stand for 10 minutes. If the breadcrumbs have absorbed the fat, it is unnecessary to add more. If not, continue adding bread crumbs in the same way until fat is absorbed.

Cool and place in pastry-lined pie plate. Cover with pastry crust. Cook at 500ºF until pastry is golden brown. Serve hot with favourite chutney or ketchup.
