1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 medium egg whites
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups raspberries
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup whipping cream, whipped

Directions:

In jelly roll pan, stir together melted butter and brown sugar. With fork mix in flour and nuts. Distribute over bottom of pan, bake in hot oven, 400º F (10 to 15 minutes), until golden brown, stir occasionally. Set aside to cool.

In large mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form, gradually adding granulated sugar. Add berries, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat on high speed until tripled in volume and stiff peaks form (10 to 15 minutes). Fold in whipped cream. Remove crumbs from jelly roll pan and spread all but 1/2 cup crumbs in bottom of 10-inch spring form pan. Top with raspberry mixture, then remaining crumbs. Freeze.

To serve, loosen edges with knife, remove ring of pan. Cut in wedges.
