8 oz. vermicelli of fideo(angel hair pasta)
2 Tbsp. Crisco shortening or other fat
1/2 c. chopped onion
8 oz. can tomato sauce
3 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon
1 can chicken broth
2-3 c. water
Onion and/or garlic powder

Directions:
Break fideo into 1 inch pieces. In a large skillet, melt fat over medium heat. Add fideo and saute' until it starts to turn while, then add onion and fry until all the fideo is lightly browned. Stir constantly--this browns FAST! When ready, turn heat to low and add tomato sauce, bouillon, and broth. Add enough water to completely cover fideo. Season with onion and.or garlic powder. Stir just enough to mix Cover and cook over low heat. DO NOT STIR. After 20 minutes, check fideo for liquid. Use a spoon to pull back slightly. Add more water or broth as needed to finish cooking fideo until tender, approximately 15 more minutes. Serves 6.
