1/2c. warm water
3/4 c. lukewarm milk
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
2 pkg. yeast
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening-softened
1/4 c. orange juice
5c. flour as needed

Directions:
Directions:
º400 Soak yeast in warm water, combine milk with sugar and salt. Stir to dissolve. Beat in shortening,eggs, juice, and rind, yeast and 1c.flour. Beat with rotary beater until smooth. Add remaining flour knead until smooth and elastic.
Let rise until double and knead down lightly and let rise again. Then divide dough into 2 equal parts. Roll out to 6x10. cut in strips 3/4 inches wide (strips should be 3/4x 6 inches) tie strips into knot with only one twist in it. Let rise until double and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Frost with 2c. powdered sugar, 2 tsp. orange rind and 3 tbsp. orange juice while still warm
