1 3/4 cups all prpose flour
1 cup rolled oats (oatmeal and qick cooking oats can also be used)
1/2 cup packed ligh brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, chilled
1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
20 caramels
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine flour, oats, and brown sugar in a bowl; mix well. Cut in butter using a pastry blender or 2 knives, untill crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of oat mixture. Press remaining oat mixture over bottom od a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes; cool slightly. Spread pie filling over baked crust. Combine caramels and condensed milk in medium saucepan. Cook, stirring continually over low heat untill smooth, about 5 minutes. Pour over pie filling. Mix reserved oat mixture and walnuts in a bowl. Sprinkle over caramel layer. Bake untill set, about 20 minutes; cool. Cut into bars. Enjoy!
