3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
6 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of salt
2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Boil one cup of sugar and one-half cup of water in a sauce pan until sugar turns brown. Pour into the bottom of six custard cups. Beat eggs until frothy, then add vanilla, remaining sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat again. Boil two cups of milk and then add slowly to egg mixture. Mix well, but do not beat. Pour into custard cups. Place cups in a pan of water and bake in preheated 350º oven for 30 minutes. Allow flan to cool in refrigerator. Serve by turning custard cups upside down over individual dessert plates.
