3 cups onions, coarsely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 Tbs. chili podwer
1 tsp ground cumino
1/4 tsp-1/2 tsp hot sauce ( I like Tabasco)
2 cups chopped, canned, no salt tomatoes with their juices
1/2 tsp sea salt
2 cups canned, no salt added kidney beans, cooked and drained
24 oz lean ground turkey
18 walnut halves, coarsely chopped.

Layer the chili ingredients, in the order listed, in crock-pot. Cover and cook on LOW for 5-7 hours.

We love this recipe. Not only is it a healthy alternative, it is easy to prepare. The walnuts sound strange, but they end up tender and you don't notice them in the recipe.
