4 1/4 c flour
4 c corn meal
3/4 c sugar
1/4 c baking powder
1 - 2 tsp salt
1 c shortening

1 egg
1 c milk
2 1/3 c. corn bread mix
Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients - cut in shortening until crumbly. Store in air-tight container in freezer up to 6 months.

To prepare corn bread: In a bowl, beat egg, milk and mix well. Stir in corn bread mix just until moistened. Batter will be lumpy. Pour into a greased 8 in pan. Bake at 425º
