1/3 c. cornstarch
2/3 c. sugar
2 c. milk
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter
Crust:
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
Ice cold water to moisten

Directions:
Directions:
Use pastry cutter on flour salt and shortening until pea-size. Add approximately 6 tablespoons of water to form crust. Mix cornstarch and sugar. Add milk slowly. Cook in double-broiler until slightly thickened. Then add 3 beaten egg yolks and cook until thick. Remove from stove and add vanilla and butter. Add other fruit, flavorings, etc. depending on what kind of pie you are making. This can be used for coconut, pineapple, banana, lemon or chocolate. Add approximately 1/3 cup cocoa with the sugar when making chocolate pie.
