Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 ham hocks
48 oz. canned great white northern beans, with liquid
1 can cream of celery
3 bay leaves
onion powder
salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Place ham hocks and bay leaves in crock pot, cover with water. Cook all day (I put in before I go to work and take out when I get back). Remove meat from fat and bones. Set meat aside. Reserve broth.

In large soup pot, add beans, cream of celery, and meat. Add reserved broth until desired consistency. Season to taste with onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Broth from ham hocks can be very salty, so pay attention when you're adding broth to soup. It seems like the salt content of the hocks varies with purchase, so you really don't know until after done cooking. This is why I cook the meat and beans separately. If adding broth to the soup is getting too salty, but you still need more liquid, use water instead.

Serve with cornbread.
