1 1/2 cup Onions (thinly sliced)
2 tbsp. Butter
6 cup Beef broth
1/2 tsp black pepper
Dash Sherry
6 sliced French bread
1 cup Parmesan (fresh, shredded)
6 slices Swiss cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion in butter till well browned but not burnt. Add beef broth, pepper and sherry - cook over low heat or in 275 degree oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on the french bread slices and put in oven for 10 minutes or till parmesan cheese melted. Fill individual oven proof bowls about 1/2-2/3 full with soup. Add french bread slices. Add 1 slice of swiss cheese to each bowl. Put under broiler until cheese melted and browns just a little.
