2 lbs beef chuck (1" cubes)
2 cups hot water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 clove minced garlic
1 medium onion sliced
2 small bay leaves
2 tsp. salt (or more)

6 carrots - cut into small pieces
8 small onions (or additional cut up)
3 or more potatoes cut up
flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dredge meat in flour. Brown meat in oil on all sides in frying pan. Use little oil. Add all ingredients except vegetables. Saute until browned. Add all ingredients to crock pot along with 4 cups of water. (My mother used a pressure cooker for this recipe, which works the best. In today's world we use a crock pot). Note*- you can add V-8 juice instead of water.

Dumplings - the best part. 2 1/4 cups original Bisquick Mix and 2/3 cups Milk. Stir Bisquick mix and milk until soft dough forms. Drop by spoonfuls into stew. Cook for 10 minutes in covered crock pot.

Personal Notes:
This was one of my favorite dishes my mother used to make when we were growing up. I especially loved the dumplings!!! I make this at least once a week in the fall and winter months. I hope you enjoy it too.
