1 1/4 c sugar
1 c melted shortening
7 1/2 c flour + 2 T
4 t baking powder
1/4 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1/2 c milk
1/2 t vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs well. Add sugar, beat again. Add melted shortening. Beat. Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add dry ingredients alternately with mild, to which vanilla has been added.

While you shape a small amount of dough, cover the rest of the dough in mixing bowl. Using palms of hands, roll a lump into a rope of dough. Add decorative flourishes with a shorter more slender rope of dough.

Bake 20 minutes in a 350º oven. While still warm brush with powdered sugar icing lightly. Sprinkle with confetti before it has a chance to glaze.
