2 c. plus 2 Tbsp Flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 Tbsp butter (1 1/2 sticks) melted and cooled until warm
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 large egg, plus 1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325º. Make sure oven rack is in middle position.
Mix flour, salt and baking soda together in a medium bowl. Set aside.
Either by hand or mixer, blend butter and sugars until thoroughly combined. Mix in egg, yolk, and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, mix just until combined. Do not overmix. Stir in chips.
Shape with a standard cookie scoop, or spoonfuls, and place on a greased or parchment lined cookie sheet (or silpat). Bake until cookies are light golden brown and outer edges start to harden yet centers are still soft and puffy. 10-13 minutes. Cool on racks and store in airtight container.
