1 to 1 1/2 c. raisins
2 c. sifted flour
1 T. cornstarch
2 T. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. vegetable oil (can be made with less oil)
3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:

Soak raisins in warm water, drain and set aside. Sift into bowl all dry ingredients, make a well. Add applesauce, raisins and oil. Mix together with a spoon; add walnuts. Pour into tube cake pan or loaf pan which has been oiled.

Bake 350ºF for 50 minutes or when inserted toothpick is clean.
