1can(1lb.4oz)dole sliced pineapple in heavy syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp butter melted
9 maraschino cherries
1 package (14.5 oz) gingerbread mix
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
drain pineapple well,reserving all syrup combine 2 tbsp syrup with brown sugar and melted butter in bottom of a 9 in. square baking pan.Arrange pineapple slices in sugar mixture. place cherries in center of each slice. Add water to remaining pineapple syrup to make 1 1/4 cups liquid Add to gingerbread mix in a large mixing bowl. Add egg. Beat 1 min. on low speed of electric mixer. Pour over pineapple in pan. Bake in a 350 º oven. for 30 to35 mins. until cake is done. Let stand 5 mins. invert on a serving plate; let stand 2 to 3 min.before removing pan
