*2 cubes (unsalted butter)
*6 egg yokes
*2 cups flour
*rind of big lemon grated
*1 tsp baking powder
3/4 - 1cup of sugar
1 jar apricot jam
1 pound walnuts (1 pkg.)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together above ingredients with (*).
Butter or Pam 9x13 non-stick metal pan.
Put mixture in pan and pat flat with hand.
Layer 1 jar apricot jam.
Beat 6 egg whites "firm".
Add 1 cup sugar a little bit at a time to egg whites.
Add 1 tsp vanilla to egg whites.
Add 1 pound of ground walnuts (grind fine).
Mix together, then layer on top of apricot jam.

Bake 375 for 45 minutes. Test with toothpick.
Cool overnight. Cut into small squares.
