1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. sweet paprika
3 tbsp. black pepper
3 tbsp. coarse salt
1 tbsp. hickory smoked salt or more coarse salt
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. celery seeds
1 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir to mix. (Your hands work best for mixing. Use your fingers to break up any lumps of brown sugar). Store the rub in an airtight jar away from heat or light. It will keep for 6 months.

This rub is fabulous on pork, ribs, or chicken (especially beer can chicken). We like that it can be made ahead of time and stored.
