2 lbs. beef stew meat
2 med. onions, sliced
6 carrots, sliced into 3/4 in. slices
1 c. celery
4-5 med. potatoes, 1 in. cubes
1/2 green pepper, cut into rings
1 16-oz can tomato juice
dash of pepper
1 piece of white bread
3 tbsp. tapioca

Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients into a covered roasting pan or casserole, adding the whole slice of bread on the top last.
Bake at 250 degrees for about 5 hours.

Serves 6-8
