2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 3/4 cups white flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 heaping tsp baking powder
1 heaping tsp sugar
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl sift and mix all dry ingredients together.

Stir in buttermilk until a soft dough is made.

Pat into a round loaf 2 inches high on a floured board and cross with a knife.

Bake on the middle oven rack for 20 minutes at 425 F, then for 20 minutes at
350 F.

When cooked, wrap in tea towel, then in newspaper to cool.
