2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
4-5 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, egg, milk and vanilla. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to the shortening mixture and beat well. Roll out and cut into desired shape. Bake in 375-400º oven for 5-7 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
