1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. leftover jam, sauce, fruit, etc.
4 c. fine crumbs (cake, cookie, bread, oats, cereal, etc.)
Nuts, raisins, dates, coconut (As much as you like)

Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, jam mixture and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and crumbs. Add nuts, etc. Chill 1 hour. Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes.

If juice is used with fruit, more flour or crumbs may be needed.
