2 3/4 c flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 c shortening, 1/2 c butter, 3/4 c sugar, 3/4 c brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp water, 1 c chopped walnuts, 2 squares unsweetened chocolate (melted), 12 oz package Nestle Semi Sweet chocolate chips, 2 large eggs

Mix and set aside flour, baking soda and salt. Cream shortening, butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and water - add eggs. Slowly add dry mixture. When blended, add melted chocolate and blend thoroughly. Add chocolate chips and walnuts. Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 16-18 minutes.
DO NOT DOUBLE!!!

This was my Great Aunt Ester's recipe (on my Dad's side). They are Dad's most favorite cookies and I try to make them for him every Father's Day and Birthday.
